The First Trimester Pregnancy Stage | 1 to 80 Days
From "I" to "WE"
The First Trimester | 1 to 80 Days
From the moment you realize you've conceived, you embark upon an exciting new phase in your life. The very thought that a young one is shaping inside you is both exhilarating and somewhat daunting.
For the Mother
“In the first trimester you are likely to see a gamut of physical as well as emotional changes that you undergo; getting used to being pregnant can be difficult, more so if you are a first time mother. You are likely to experience morning sickness, nausea, unending cravings and frequent mood swings. However, you needn't get too perturbed because all of this is completely normal and healthy.”
You ought to get yourself checked frequently, establish a close relationship with your gynecologist and be available for the timely screenings. The screenings will include ultrasound scans to check for the fetus' growth, abnormality patterns and other genetic disorders, if any.
For the Baby
"In the first trimester the baby grows from a single cell into a fully formed baby with arms, feet and ears. The baby weighs about 1 ounce at the end of the first trimester. The baby will experience its first ultrasound scan during this period and thus will provide you the first glimpse of who he or she is going to be! Some of the most critical development of the baby takes places during this time and there is also a higher chance of miscarriage."
